The Write Sisters are Janet Buell, Kathy Deady, Muriel Dubois, myself, Andy Murphy, Barbara Turner, and Sally Wilkins. We started as a critique group and over the years we have published more than a hundred books--from picture books to nonfiction to novels.
We have now expanded and formalized our relationship. We've branched out into sharing our knowledge of children's books and writing, by conducting workshops. The photo below was taken after our presentation in September 2008 for NE-SCBWI.
We write collaboratively for Apprentice Shop Books on the Women of... series. Women of Granite: 25 New Hampshire Women You Should Know was released in the spring of 2008. Women of the Bay State: 25 Massachusetts Women You Should Know will be released in 2009.
In 2008 Women of Granite was selected as the NH Center for the Book's recommended book for young readers at the National Book Festival held in Washington, D.C.
